This week’s Naked Wreck Alert is not given to a political candidate or celebrity–in fact, it isn’t even given to a specific person at all. Instead, we find a CVS store in Mesquite, TX to be an awful Naked Wreck after its employees refused to sell a customer Plan B for his wife.

The excuse? They didn’t want to sell emergency contraception to men because they feared it would be used on future “rape victims.”

Let’s boil this logic down. Not only are all men potential rapists, but they’re also rapists considerate enough to plan ahead for unplanned pregnancy…? Both assumptions are wildly misinformed.

Strangely, this wasn’t an isolated incident either. Another CVS store in Houston faced a similar controversy a month earlier. The excuse given then was that the man attempting to purchase the pill couldn’t prove it was for a woman over 17. While CVS employees undoubtedly have good intentions, they are clearly operating under reverse-sexism. Regardless of reason, they are discriminating against the male gender based on severe and insulting assumptions. The company needs to consider its policies, and challenge what–exactly–is informing their discrimination. Until then, CVS is nothing more than a Naked Wreck.

The Naked Wreck Alert  is given to a person or organization that has somehow hindered truth, justice, health, freedom and/or coolness in our world, and is therefore in serious need of therapy, naked or not.
