Are you seeing red?
Have you read about the red-dress effect yet?
According to ScienceNow and University of Rochester psychologist Adam Pazda, men link the color red with sex. Say it with me now…uh, duh. Did you really need scientists to conclude that red lipstick marks, cheeks blushed red, and slinky red lingerie are sexy?
Actually…yes. Because while the connection between the color red and sex may not sound like rocket science, until Pazda’s recent study the shade’s allure had left scientists in the dark. There were theories, of course, that referenced baboon bottoms and the flush of post-coital cheeks. But Pazda’s new study isolates the psychology and specific thought process that links the color with sex.
To do this, Pazda and his colleagues conducted an experiement where they showed 25 men a photo of the same woman wearing both a red and white T-Shirt. The volunteers were then asked to assess, on a scale from 1-9, how interested the model seemed to be in sex.
In other words, how DTF she was.
The results proved that men assume that women wearing red are more willing to have sex. Which brings a whole other meaning to the phrase, painting the town red, doesn’t it?
The Naked Star is given to a website or article that has shown awesome bravery in expressing truth in the areas of psychology, health, sexuality and/or culture.

I believe the results of this study where obvious before it even began. We already know that women are attracted (and in some cases sexual aroused) to a man wearing red. They (women) associate the color red with success, power, and money. If you look at the media (movies, tv, etc.) it shows men becoming aroused and/or attracted to the color red. Also, if you look at department/clothing store’s sales report (for valentines, Christmas, New Year’s, anniversary, and other special occasions) the color red has been in the top five color choices for the past several years. The men in the studies have said that women in red appear more adventurous, more willing to have sex, and appear more successful in their careers.
