The recent news story of a teenage prostitution ring, where young Canadian girls were lured into a home, drugged, and delivered to adult clients, may well be disturbing, but it doesn’t become unfathomable until you hear the perpetrators of the pimping: three teenage girls.

Two 15-year-old girls are already in police custody, charged for human trafficking, procuring, forcible confinement, abduction, and sexual assault against a number of peers. Another suspect, age 17, is at large.

Staff Sgt. John McGetrick said the trio organized the crime on their own accord, and was not instigated by an adult mastermind.

“It’s shocking, quite frankly,” McGetrick admitted. “We asked the RCMP, who take the lead on human-trafficking, and they didn’t know of any similar case in Canada.”

While I’m sure many conservatives are tempted to explain this incident through an analysis of an over-sexualized society and the expediency of teenage sexuality, any attempt to understand the act belittles the immorality this event. There is truly is no explanation;  this is an example of inexplicable inhumanity.
